Just like humans, animals can suffer from injuries and conditions that affect their bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves, and can cause pain. This can present as behaviour changes such as reluctance to jump and difficulty on the stairs in dogs, or difficulty cantering on the correct lead or schooling problems in horses. The behaviour changes can also be more subtle, and animals can be good at hiding these or compensating for problems.

We strive to provide a high standard of physiotherapy care for your animal and help them to be at their best through effective physiotherapy treatment. Treatment may include joint mobilisations, soft tissue massage, exercise prescription, electrotherapy and proprioceptive taping.

Whether it be for your puppy, older dog, competition horse or happy hacker, we are here to help.

Canine physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can treat conditions such as osteoarthritis, elbow and hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament injuries, spinal injuries, soft tissue injuries and rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery.

Your dog will be assessed via thorough questioning of their history and medical background. This will be followed by a physical assessment to observe their gait, movements, assess their spinal and limb range of movement followed by palpation, and assessment of nerve function where necessary.

Equine physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can treat conditions such as back pain, soft tissue injuries, lameness (where this has been diagnosed by your vet), behavioural issues, and post operative rehabilitation.

Your horse will be assessed via thorough questioning of their history and medical background. This will be followed by a physical assessment to observe their gait on the straight and on the lunge, assess their spinal and limb range of movement followed by palpation, and assessment of nerve function where necessary.
